Before you travel, make sure to read and understand the complete guidelines of the city/state you are travelling to and comply with the same so as to have a hassle-free experience.

What time should I reach the airport?

For domestic travel:
It is recommended you reach the airport 2-3 hours before departure. Check-in counters close 60 minutes prior to the flight’s departure.

For international travel:
It is recommended you reach the airport at least 4 hours before departure. Check-in counters close 75 minutes prior to the flight’s departure.

What should I do if I test positive while travelling in India?

Quarantine:
Self-quarantine at your private stay or ask your hotel about their quarantine arrangements and available packages that include meals. If you need to shift to another hotel, do it at the earliest. It would be best to stay in an area where medical help and food is easily accessible.

Health care:
Call your doctor and tell them your symptoms. Inform them what facilities are available near you so they can help you out in the best way possible. Track your oxygen levels and temperature and inform your doctor in case you see any alarming changes.

Stock up:
Get medicines, protein bars, orange juice and light snacks delivered to your door.

Travel Plans:
Reschedule your flight and ask about the airline’s policy for this situation. Ask them if they have any discounts for rescheduling given the situation and any restrictions for travelling.

Most importantly, catch up on your watchlist and track your vitals. You’ll be back on your feet in no time!

What should I do if I test positive while travelling abroad?

Travel Plans:
If your visa is only valid till your date of departure then you will have to extend it until your quarantine ends. Reschedule your flight accordingly.

Check your destination's embassy website:
Find out what help they provide and if they cover any expenses in this situation

Quarantine:
Ask for quarantine packages at your stay that include meals and are also economical. If you're staying at a private place, self-quarantine yourself in a room and arrange for food to be delivered to you. Speak to the nearest doctor and inform them about your symptoms.

Coming home:
Keep tracking the latest travel guidelines to enter India from the country you are in. To be on the safe side, you should carry a negative RT-PCR report with you. While planning international travel during this time, it would be a good idea to invest in a travel insurance that covers COVID-19 infections so you can leave the stress out of your trip.

What should I carry while travelling?

Make sure you're carrying extra masks (N95 masks are recommended), disposable hand gloves, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, vaccination certificate. Don't forget to download and activate the Aarogya Setu app on your phone as it is mandatory for all travellers.

Can I still get a meal on-board?

Depending on the latest guidelines, airlines may choose to provide this service or stop meals on-board during this time. While booking your ticket on Blinctrip, check the flight details section to find out if the flight provides meals and to pre-book them. Contact the airline for further queries or updates.

What safety precautions can I take?

Please do not travel if you are feeling unwell. This will protect you and your co-travellers. Children and the elderly are most vulnerable and are advised against travelling unless absolutely necessary. When travelling, please ensure that you wear gloves and a facemask. Some airlines might provide you with a facemask, gloves and a face-shield as well. While wearing the facemask, please ensure that it isn't too loose and covers your nose well. Avoid touching surfaces. When you get to your home / hotel, please remember to shower and change into a fresh set of clothes.

What are the safety precautions being taken at the airport?

  1. Thermal screening of all travellers
    All travellers will undergo thermal screening before entering the airport. This is done to check your body temperature. Travellers who report an above normal body temperature, and/or are displaying other symptoms will not be permitted to fly. If you are found to have symptoms like cough, heavy breathing, fever, you will not be allowed to travel. Please do not visit the airport, or travel if you have symptoms. Rapid tests might be conducted at some airports. Check state-wise guidelines for more details.
  2. Status on the Aarogya Setu App
    Travellers will be permitted to enter the airport only if they are considered safe on the Aarogya Setu App.
  3. Face masks and gloves are mandatory
    It is compulsory to wear face masks and gloves at the airport and inside the flight. You are advised not to remove your face mask and gloves at any cost.
  4. All airport staff will be in PPE gear
    All airline and airport staff are required to wear their PPE at all times.
  5. Trolley use is discouraged
    The use of trolleys will be limited to those with genuine reasons only. Please do carry the appropriate bags to ensure an easy experience at the airport.
  6. All baggage will be sanitised
    Some airports have set up a conveyor belt where travellers are to place their baggage for sanitisation. All bags will be sanitised by a UV machine before they are transferred to the aircraft.
  7. Social distancing measures are enforced
    Most airports have placed stickers and markers at various points and made seating arrangements that abide by social distancing guidelines. At the bare minimum travellers must be at least 1 meter away from another person at all points of time throughout their transit through the airport.
  8. Compulsory web check-in
    Web check-in has now been made mandatory to avoid queues at airports baggage counters. It is advised that travellers carry a print-out their printed boarding pass and baggage tags. If this is not possible, travellers are to obtain the same from a kiosk at the airport.
